The present study will emphasize in Diabetic Ketoacidosis (will be mentioned as “DKA” in this study), acute complication of Diabetes Mellitus (will be mentioned as “DM” in the present study, “T1DM” for type 1 diabetes mellitus, and “T2DM” for type 2 diabetes mellitus). All aspects of this illness will be described and discussed in the present study. The sample for this study will be based on several patients that present to the Emergency Department (will be mentioned as “ED” in the present study) of Thames Hospital, New Zealand, and are diagnosed with DKA.

Dr Juan Pablo Meza Budani I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1978. I attended the Universidad Abierta Interamericana in Buenos Aires, where I graduated as a Medical Doctor in 2004. I also hold a Master's Degree in Emergency Medicine from the Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain, 2012), and it is PhD in Health Sciences from the Holy State University (Philadelphia, USA, 2018). During my career, I have worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician, both in hospital and pre-hospital roles in Argentina, Spain, the United Kingom and New Zealand, where I currently live in.
