Medicinal plants have been used by human civilizations since antiquity and continue to serve as a primary source of healthcare for a significant portion of the global population. Ancient medical systems such as Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and various indigenous traditions rely extensively on plant-based formulations for the treatment and prevention of diseases. In addition to their therapeutic value, medicinal plants contribute significantly to the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic industries.
