Energy in various form play an important role in the life cycle. Energy is the key input
to drive the society. Primarily, it is the gift of the nature to the mankind in various forms.
The consumption of the energy is directly proportional to the progress of the mankind.
Living in a civilized society consumes more energy. Most promising is the energy that is all
around us in the dynamic forces of nature; the wind, tides, waves, rivers, geothermal and
the sun. The energy can be classified as electrical, gravitational, chemical, bio-chemical,
nuclear, angular, elastic, and magnetic and many forms we haven't discovered. However,
all over the world intense research has been undertaking by different NGOs and GOs in
renewable energy sources for a better tomorrow. India is the second most populated
country in the world, covering 2.5% of total area of the world but 17% of the world
population.
