The Silent Lake (besides The Speaking Tree)
As we grow and go about our daily routine, we hardly find decent and
dedicated time for Spirituality. But an article there, a quote here or some story
elsewhere does often touch a deep cord inside and we do promise ourselves
to delve more deep into it later.
And more often than not some misfortune or hardship propels us into it , and
then we get enlightened as to what a wonderful thing it all can be.
This book, a mixed bag of articles ( some blogs , random writings and others
those appeared in the Speaking Tree column and books of Times Of India ),
you'll surely find in resonance with how you go about your life.
Most were meant for the Speaking Tree column ( and newspaper ) – Some
appeared there and others were posted as blogs, a few were just my thoughts
put to paper. Sheer reading, then experiencing first hand all that was read
and finally the quest to share in simple words with readers the insights
gained is what this book is all about.
How a game of Sudoku teaches us lessons on right living , the sheer contrast
between two religions Jainism and Islam (but yet how the two still have a
common ultimate goal ) and the uncanny truth behind the belief as to how
one can accomplish a trip to Vaishno Devi only when the divine beckons ( and
then nothing ever, can stop you ! ).
Pick any random article ( and each one is brief, not more than 800 words –
barring one ), browse through it and it surely will bring a smile on your face.
You would have taken one step up the staircase to bliss.
As fillers enjoy reading some interesting Lake Takes at the end of some of the
chapters.
