It is with great pleasure that the "First Edition" of this book is released, dedicated to B. Pharm students, professors and for the teaching Institutions and first and foremost the Pharmacy profession. This book was compiled in accordance with the requirements of the training course in Medicinal Chemistry. It is as per the program regulations and course work prescribed by the Pharmaceutical Council of India and useful for the graduate pharmacy program (B.Pharm), postgraduate pharmacy program (M.Pharm) , postgraduate program in science in medicinal chemistry (M.Sc), doctor of pharmacy program (Pharm.D) and for Allied Health Sciences including diploma in pharmacy (D.Pharm) in India and abroad. The main goal of this book is to provide students with comprehensive information on topics in simple and clear language. The main features of the book are as follows: 1. It mainly covers requirement for the course work of bachelor of pharmacy course (B. Pharm) Course Regulations laid down by Pharmaceutical Council of India, New Delhi. 2. The language in this book is simple and clear. 3. Best representation and correlation of Theory and its application to the actual practice of medicinal chemistry and associated therapeutics point view has been explained and illustrated. 4. The book covers both biological and chemical interfaces of medicinal chemistry and more towards the biological pharmaceutical chemistry approach of medicinal chemistry. Hope this book will be useful for students and faculty and quick lessons for know-how in medicinal Chemistry. Dr. Amit G. Nerkar

Dr. Amit G. Nerkar M.Pharm (Medi. Chem), CCP (HMS, USA), CPCP (NIH, USA), PhD (Pharma. Sci), FAFSER Dr. Amit G.Nerkar has 18 years of experience in teaching and research. Dr. Nerkar Obtained his graduate degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm) from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati M.S., in 2003. Also., he completed his postgraduate degree in pharmacy (M. Pharm) in Pharmaceutical (Medicinal) Chemistry from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Govt.Aided), Berhampur, Orissa affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, in 2005. He obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D) in Pharmaceutical Sciences SVKM’s NMIMS University, Mumbai in 2010. During his PhD he was awarded Senior Research Fellow of Indian Council of Medical Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi. He has 52 presentations in conferences of national and international Levels and 66 Publications in SCI indexed journals with SCI Mago Impact Factor. He is also member of Editorial Board for many SCI indexed Journals. Prof. Dr. Amit Nerkar is well proficient with Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacology. He has research funding grants from Central Funding agencies of India, worth INR 54 Lacs. (INR 5.4 million). He has several grants for seminars and conferences as convener as well. He also has passed his online certification in Clinical Pharmacology from Harvard Medical School, USA and National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Clinical Research, Govt. of USA in 2020. He has also cleared his GPAT, an apex aptitude test in pharmacy in India, conducted by NTA, Department of Higher Education, Government of India and qualified with All India Rank 635 in 2019. He is currently working as Professor (UG) and Research Head at CAYMET’s Siddhant College of Pharmacy, Sudumbare, Pune 410501, M.S., India. He is also working as Editor-in -Chief for his Journal Current Trends in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, ctppc.org, since 2019. Lastly, he has authored 12 Books of National and International standards with ISBN from reputed publishers throughout his career. Dr. Narendra M. Gowekar

Dr Narendra M. Gowekar M Pharm (Pharm. Chemistry) PhD (Pharmaceutical Sciences) Dr. Narendra Mulchand Gowekar is presently working as Professor and Head of PG Department in CAYMET’s Siddhant College of Pharmacy, Sudumbare, Pune. He graduated in the year 2000 from S. N. Institute of Pharmacy Pusad , Post graduated in the year 2002 from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur and PhD from School of Pharmacy, SRTM University Nanded Maharashtra. He has total 20 year of teaching experiences and six months of industrial experiences. He has published more than 40 research paper in various National and international journals. He has guided more than 50 M. Pharm Students and two PhD students. He has received research grants from various funding agencies. He got Best Poster Award at AICTE sponsored National level conferences. He has delivered invited lectures in state and National level conferences and seminar. His name is registered in Indian book of award and Asia book of award. He is also working as an Editor in Journal Current Trends in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, ctppc.org.
