Studies On Fibre Reinforced Copper Slag Concrete
Large scale depletion of river bed and increasing cost of river sand has created a huge
demand for alternative form of fine aggregate to be used in the construction activity. In
states like Maharashtra, Kerala and Gujarat, due to disastrous ecology impact, sand
mining in rivers has already been banned. Industrial wastes and by-products like fly ash,
silica fume, stone dust, carbonated sand and various slags have been tried as alternatives
of sand in preparation of concrete and an improved strength and durability have been
seen. So, slag has a big prospective of getting established as an appropriate alternative
material to sand.
