The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is measured as one of the flagship programmes of the Government of India made substantial improvements in the life of the people those who are involved in the livelihood programme. Dr. C. Vinodan is currently Professor & Director, School of International Relations and Politics & Joint Director, University Centre for International Cooperation (UCIC), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He also serves as the Honorary Director of the Institute for Contemporary Chinese Studies (ICCS), Mahatma Gandhi University. He is currently a member of the US –India Higher Education Collaboration and Internationalization project (2022-23) initiated by MIAMI University, USA. His areas of teaching and research include: IR theory, Security studies, India’s foreign policy, China studies, South Asia, Indo- Pacific studies; US foreign policy and Indo- US relations, Internationalization of Higher Education; climate change and energy security, Public health and pandemics, local governance and public policy in India. C.Vinodan is the author/editor of 18 books, over 70 journal articles and book chapters. He also produced 12 PhDs and successfully completed five major research projects sponsored by the UGC, ICSSR, IMPRESS, KSHEC and SIRD. His major works were published with Sage, Rutledge, Springer, Nova (USA), Palgrave, New Century publishers, Gyan publishers etc.His recent publications include: US- China Relations in the Twenty First Century (2022), Rutledge, London. Dr. Rajeev M. M. (MSW, M.A & Ph.D.) is currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Social Work, School of Social Sciences at Central University of Rajasthan. He served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work, Amrita University, Amritapuri, Kollam, Kerala for seven years. Dr. Rajeev has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, training, research and project implementation. He worked in development organizations such as ActionAid India, DEEDS India- NIMHANS projects, Mata Amritananadamayi Math’s projects in Andaman Islands, Various projects in South India. His research and teaching areas are Social Work, Disaster Management; Counselling and Mental health, Psychosocial care; HIV/AIDS Counselling; Geriatric Counselling; Community Development; Research methods and design; Social Welfare Policy; and Sustainable Livelihood. He has attended many international and national conferences and has published more than 50 articles 3 books in international and national level.
