The term Temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) describes a group of conditions, that occurs in the region of temporo-mandibular, which is represented by pain in the temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) or in masticatory muscles, or both.(1,2) In about 20% to 85% of the population, there is prevalence of TMD with an incidence of more among female, i.e., 6.3% than male, i.e., 2.8%.(3,4) In a population, jaw pain related to TMD takes place in about 5% to 6%; with the pain up to 19% and mouth opening impairment up to 23%, and is commonly found in population with 20 to 40 years of age group.(5)
