Anemia is the most common hematological disease in children with
highest prevalence in developing countries. (1) Among the causes of
anemia iron deficiency is the commonest. Almost one third of the world
population has iron deficiency anemia and more than a third school
children affected all over the world.(2) Different studies in the Indian
pediatric population have shown high prevalence of anemia varying from
27% to 90%.(3). Environmental factors affecting the nutrition chiefly
