Assessment is a crucial part of learning process because most
students focus on assessment more than any other component. The
requirements of assessments dictate the curriculum in most of the
syllabus and the selection of assessment method depends on the
purpose of its use.
Assessment done during learning process in education acts as a
motivator for both the educator and the learner to improve the
learning process. In dental education assessment should include a
diagnostic component in order to identify the barrier and weakness.
A comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment prior to clinical and
during clinical stage can be an effective measure of assessment in
dental education
