Oral Submucous Fibrosis - A Review
In the world of medical science certain Premalignant conditions are more
commonly seen mainly because of various habits such as tobacco
chewing, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption and specially areca nut
chewing. However among all other premalignant conditions “Oral
submucous fibrosis” is one of the most chronic, insidious, disabling
potentially malignant conditions of oral mucosa seen predominantly in
southern Asia. Oral submucous fibrosis is an old enemy in this context
which is gaining repeated mention in oral health circles. It is a unique oral
affliction that has infested the oral cavities, of “betel nut” and 'gutkha'
chewers for the past few decades. This library dissertation deals with
overall review about the OSMF.
