Dr.Tahmeena Nigar Sultana

Dr.Tahmeena Nigar Sultana presently working as an Assistant Professor in the D e p a r t m e n t o f J o u r n a l i s m a n d M a s s C o m m u n i c a t i o n , K a r n a t a k a S t a t e Akkamahadevi Women's University, Vijayapura. She has 12 years teaching experience and 12 years research experience. She teaches, Theories of Communication, Women and Media, Writing for Electronic Media and Communication Research Methods to the Master's students and Ph.D scholars in the KSAWU Vijayapura. She also served as Coordinator, Gandhi Study Center and presently serving as the coordinator, Minority Students Welfare Cell, KSAWU Vijayapura. She is the first Research Scholar who got Post Doctoral Fellowship in Journalism and Mass Communication in Karnataka State. She has published 34 Research Papers in reputed International/National Journals and proceedings. She has also published a book on 'Radio and Agriculture Development'. She has presented many research papers in Inter national/National seminar/conferences/ symposiums. Dr.Tahmeena has completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) entitled “An Evaluation Study on Relevance of Radio for Promoting and Popularizing Organic Farming in Karnataka” and got selected for UGC-Post Doctoral Fellowship during October 2015 Entitled “Coverage of Socio-Economic and Political Issues Related to Muslims-A Comparative study of Kannada and Urdu Dailies” under the guidance of Prof. Onkargouda Kakade.
