Dr. S. Balaselvakumar

Dr. S. Balaselvakumar is an Assistant Professor in Post Graduate and Research Department of Geography, Thanthai Periyar Government Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu and has Fourteen years of teaching experiences. He obtained Master's degree in Geography from the Presidency College, Chennai, Master of Philosophy in Micro-Level Planning f rom the Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University), Dindigul, and Doctor of Philosophy in Geography from the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. He has published 31 research papers in national and international journals. He is a specialist in the field of water resources management, geography of crime and geoinformatics. Life membership in different professional bodies and Member of Board of Studies in Geography several colleges in Tamil Nadu. He guides M.Phil and Ph.D (F/T & P/T) research scholars to pursue their degree. He was awarded Fellowship of the Indian Water Resources Society for his professional contributions in the field of water resources.

Dr. K. Kumaraswamy

Dr. K. Kumaraswamy, former Head of the Department of Geography, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli obtained his Ph.D., in Water Resources Management from University of Madras, Chennai. He was awarded UGC and CSIR Fellowships for his Doctoral Degree and Research Associateship Programmes at University of Madras. His advanced studies were at Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehra Dun, India (1996) and at Water Resources Research Centre (VITUKI), Budapest, Hungary (1993). He is associated with the UNESCO and German IHP/OHP programs and participated in a number of activities in a number of countries. He has guided 30 Ph.D., candidates and more than 90 M. Phil.,/M. Tech., students. To his credit he has published more than 100 research papers in national/international journals and authored 10 books in Remote Sensing, GIS, Water Resources and Environmental Studies. He was awarded Prof. B. M. Thirunaranan Award for his continuous research in geography by the Indian Geographical Society and UGC’s Indo- Hungarian Long-Term Educational Exchange Programme. He was the Director of Council for College and Curriculum Development (CCCD) of Bharathidasan University and Coordinator of the UGC – SAP – DRS I & II Programmes. He is the Editor of the Indian Geographical Journal from 2009 onwards. He has been awarded with UGC- Mid Career Award / One Time Grant (2015- 16) and UGC – BSR Faculty Fellowship (2016 – 2019). Now, has been awarded with ICSSR Senior Fellowship
