Ethnobotany is the interdisciplinary scientific study of the relationships between human societies and plants, encompassing how different cultures perceive, classify, use, manage, and conserve plant resources. It investigates the complex interactions between people and plant biodiversity as mediated through language, belief systems, subsistence strategies, healthcare practices, and ecological knowledge. Ethnobotany does not treat plants merely as biological entities but recognizes them as cultural beings embedded within social systems, spiritual values, and historical experiences. This holistic approach distinguishes ethnobotany from conventional botanical sciences and positions it as a bridge between natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities
