developments, there has been an increase in concern about the impact of man's activities on the environment in recent years. Because the natural environment is an integrated system, any change in one of its components such as air, water or land will affect the entire environment. Inland aquaculture has made the most sginifcant contribution to global food security. Despite the continued reliance on marine ingredients and increased reliance on terrestrial ingredient, aquaculture feed efficiency and fish nutrition has improved significantly, lowering the fish-in–fish-out ratio for all fed species. Although, molluscs culture is becoming more wellknown for its ecological services, the quantification, value and market development of these services are still unknown. Molluscs hold a lot of promise in terms of contributing to global nutritional security. Management of pathogens, parasites and pests remains an industry-wide sustainability concern, and the effects of climate change on aquaculture are unknown and difficult to validate. Pressure on aquaculture to adopt comprehensive sustainability measures has improved the governance, technology, sitting, and management in many cases over the last 20-years,. Molluscs have evolved and diversified to inhabit nearly every ecosystem on the planet, from arid deserts to alpine regions, but they are most abundant in the sea, accounting for roughly a quarter of all known species. The enormous biological diversity of Mollusca provides a wide range of chemical diversity. All mollusks, shelled or not, are soft-bodied and lack adaptive immune systems with antigen-specific cell-mediated protective mechanisms. Molluscs have been recognised as valuable fisheries resources in many parts of coastal regions of the world because of their commercial importance. Because of the nutritional and physiological benefits of the mollusks, they may be added to our diets to improve health and immune systems function.
