Odontogenic tumors (OT) are heterogenous group of tumors which are derived from the odontogenic apparatus [1]. These may be comprised of odontogenic epithelium, ectomesenchyme and/or mesenchymal elements, which also form the basis of their classification. OT can affect individuals at any age over a wide age range [2]. Over a period of time, numerous modifications have been made in the nomenclature and classification of these tumors. World Health Organization (WHO) classification of head and neck tumors devotes an exclusive chapter to odontogenic tumors and cysts [3]. With a better understanding in the pathogenesis of these lesions, many changes have been made in the latest classification [4].
