In topical drug delivery system, drug reaches to the site of action via diffuses out of the delivery system and their absorption takes the place of the skin. Percutaneous absorption can be improved by increasing the release rate of the drug from dosage form. The release rates of medications from topical preparations depend straightforwardly on various physical, chemical properties of the carrier and the medication utilized. Since the mid1980s, emulsion gels have been picking up significance in pharmaceutical topical semisolid dosage forms.
