At the end of 2019 in Wuhan (Hubei, China) a series of pneumonia cases of unknown cause emerged. A few weeks later, in January 2020, a novel virus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was identified as causative agent for that observed pneumonia cluster after deep sequencing analysis from lower respiratory tract (Huang et. al., 2020) On February 11th, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, named the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 as “COVID-19”, and by March 11th, 2020 when the number of countries involved was 114, with more than 118,000 cases and over 4000 deaths, the WHO declared the pandemic status(WHO,2020).

I am Dr. Mayadhar Barik, AIIMS, New Delhi (Sir APJ Abdul Kalam &TEJASWINI AWARDEE) S/O Late Laxman Kumar Barik, Associate Professor and Chief-Researcher Basic and Clinical Sciences under Faculty of Science and Technology Division in Department of Biochemistry, Mewar University, Gangrar, Chittorgarh, Rajsthan-312901.Currently, acting as a Head of the Department (HOD) of Paramedical Sciences. My key thrust area of research is Birth defects, Tissue engineering, Radiation biology, Medical Informatics, Health Research, Cancer biology, and very special interest to development of drugs and molecular targeted therapy (MTT) for disease specific. I am commitment and responsible for hard working with strong positive energy and mind for the Nation building. I have already published more than 187 articles including with book chapters. In my knowledge 7 text books are in pipeline. I have received and awarded so many prizes with distinction and submitted more than a dozen of projects to the different funding agency in government of India. I am also taking classes for PG students and faculty in our Institutions those are needful. My prior vision and future mission is to development of drugs, molecular targeted therapy (MTT) in different aspects of diseases. Currently, keeping busy for the development and guidelines/protocol and trying for design vaccines for CoV-SARS2 for their management for the long term goal for the betterment of the World. I acknowledge to my father Late Laxman Kumar Barik (Ex-Sarpanch Hatbadra), mother Sebati Barik and my all respected teachers from my childhood, well-wishers Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gadiya (Chairperson) Mewar University, Prof. (Dr.)Venkata V.P.R.P., Prof. (Dr.) S.Dixit and Abhishek Kumar Verma and my wife Shilpi Sudha Mohakud and my two kids Pati and Pratay promote me to do hard work for society and to bind up this text book as an Editor- in-Chief.

ABHISHEK KUMAR VERMA is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Biochemistry at Mewar University. I received My Graduate degree from Department of Biotechnology from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India and Post Graduate degree In Life Sciences (Specialization in Biochemistry) from the Department of Biochemistry, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (Punjab) in 2019. My key thrust areas are Research is Natural compounds, Phytochemistry, Drug Delivery System, Drug Design and Targeted Therapies. I acknowledge my Father Durga Lal Verma and Mother Kali Devi, Teachers Dr. Shashank Kumar, Dr. Mayadhar Barik and Dr. Monisha Dhiman and my lovely friends Rahul Nawal, Abhishek Dadhich, Santosh Mourya, Atul Kumar and Mohamad Ahmad for their Constant inspiration and guidance and blessings promote me as a Review-Editor and my present assignment as a faculty.
