This book explores plant succession from multiple perspectives. It begins with the foundational principles that define how plant communities change over time, including primary and secondary succession, pioneer species, soil development, and community assembly. These early chapters establish the theoretical framework necessary for understanding the mechanisms driving ecological change. As the book progresses, the discussion expands into various types of successional environments, including hydrosere, xerosere, forest succession, grassland dynamics, and wetland development. Each ecosystem provides unique insights into how environmental constraints and biological interactions shape vegetation patterns.
