declining over the subsequent period. The average annual growth rate of
GDP was 4.1 percent in 2000-2009 reaching an historical high of 6.1
percent in 2001 and a record low of 0.1 percent in 2002. In the period 2010-
2017, the annual average growth rate of GDP was 4.2 percent, a slight or
marginal increase by 0.1 percentage point over the previous period
reaching an historical high of 4.8 percent in 2012 and a record low of 0.4
percent in 2016 (Figure 1.2).
