Indian textile industry is the oldest industry providing employment and earning foreign exchange for the country (http://info.shine.com /industry/textiles/17.html). India is the second largest producer of textiles and garments in the world and according to Technopak Advisors the Indian textiles and apparel industry is expected to grow to a size of US$ 223 billion by 2021. Textiles are manufactured to perform a wide range of functions and are made up of different type of fibres either in pure or mixed form.
