Indian textile industry is the oldest industry providing employment and

and garments in the world and according to Technopak Advisors the
Indian textiles and apparel industry is expected to grow to a size of US$ 223
billion by 2021. Textiles are manufactured to perform a wide range of
functions and are made up of different type of fibres either in pure or
mixed form. In general, application of fibres belong to the following three
broad categories; apparel, home textiles and for technical use. Most of the
textile products are for short term use (disposable) to medium term use
lasting up to few years in their service life (Nagpal, 2014).
